Pan de Sal a la French Toast

My son, influenced by the game, Restaurant Story, asked me the other day to make French Toastย for merienda ๐Ÿ™‚ We didn’t have wheat bread on hand & had left-over Pan de Sal, so I used that instead! ๐Ÿ˜›ย After researching on how to make French Toast, I combined some of the ingredients I remembered from the different recipes & concocted my own! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Here’s what I came up with:

Pan de Sal a la French Toast


  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1T honey
  • 1t cinnamon powder
  • a dash of nutmeg
  • a drop or two of vanilla
  • unsalted butter
  • Pan de Sal
  • maple syrup


  1. Combine first 6 ingredients & mix well.
  2. Slice Pan de Sal in half & coat with milk mixture on both sides.
  3. Melt butter on a pan & fry both sides of the coated Pan de Sal until golden brown.
  4. Drizzle with maple syrup & serve.
Easy, breezy (Cover Girl! Lol! :P), delicious & tasty! ๐Ÿ™‚ A simple recipe employing different ingredients that can be commonly found inside your pantry ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have it for breakfast or merienda!

2011 Easter Celebration Spread – Crustacean Bisque

I wanted to do something extraordinary for Easter, so I decided to go full force & cook 6 dishes! ๐Ÿ˜€ Seriously, 26 hours in the making. I didn’t expect it to be so arduous & didn’t expect to cook the WHOLE DAY yesterday ๐Ÿ˜ But I’m not complaining. I did it for God for & for my family, & despite the exhaustion & my aching body, I would do it all over again โค

I started making the Seafood Stock at 3:30PM. Then the Brown Stock at 7.

I started preparing at 8AM & finished at 5:30PM!
